an affair of the heart

If my heart were to wander from it's love of home, it would be sorely seduced by the charm of this summerhouse on the coast of Denmark.

Clearly designed by a person with a playful soul. Someone with a love for colour and for pieces with a comfy, "can I have a warm cookie Grandma?" sensation.

I should of read between the lines for this cottage belongs to Danish childrenswear designer Helle HØgsbro and her family. Helle's Copenhagen shop 'Crème de la Crème à la Edgar' is described as a, 'secret look into a child's universe, full of humour, warmth, & an inspiring look on the world. Simmers with creativity, vibrant colours, and exclusive products'. I'd say her home follows suite.

Obviously debatable what is more adorable, this Nordic family or their sweet..sweet home? Equivalent to rolling around naked in some of Martha Stewart's pastel-hued butter cream frosting wouldn't you agree?

Wishing you & yours a mellow, confectionery filled, sunny summers weekend.

Thank you for reading dumbwit tellher this week. I can't say that enough

Cheers my dears ~

{go forth & live responsibly}
colour your world

This home exudes sheer happiness...so playfully charming! I can see why you'd want to visit...the smiling would be so non-stop that one's cheeks would start to hurt. :D

btw- rolling around in Martha's pastel buttercream...so funny (and true)! xo J~

hi Deb I actually thought it was a dollshouse! This is the reason for a summer house - to indulge one's design schizophrenia ie modern at home and country colour there. Hope you are well xox

Hey Deb
I love this summer house.. especially the living/kitchen space... with the pink/green/lemon combination.. Does remind me of frosting!! or the colours of depression era glass and china!! OH.. and Tolix chairs too.. yes please... Looks like a great place to escape 'normal' for a while..

Now you've got me dreaming about a summer house... and summer... well spring will be here soon.. just waiting and waiting..

Have a great weekend.. xxx Julie

Interesting post I could live there.
That light blue room made me think of a fabric I had my quest bed room. It was blue background an peach flowers. I don't usually like blue, espically dark blues. Headboard was covered and also I used it for the fabric in the window shutters and a lamp shade, That room was so pretty peach and bayt blue.

I love a sweet, colorful family home like that for myself. My friend just built a completely gray scale house for her family. It took me awhile to understand what was going on, but it was super interesting. I'm always learning to love new things, but your friend's house is super intuitive to me. Thanks for the tour. Come see us!
