if I still had time to sell a kidney, I'd be in Paris

this is the place to be;

Date: Sunday, September 5th at 7 pm
6 Place des Saint Germain des Pres
75006 Paris

If I could be in one place Sept. the 5th it would be Paris. I would be ecstatic to walk-in the door of the cafe to meet & greet Sande of A Gift Wrapped Life, Vicki of French Essence, & Claudia of The Paris Apartment. These incredible women will be in Paris for the Maison et Objet Paris (among other things) and made plans to meet for a 'sparkly drink' and the amazing opportunity to spend the evening face to face. Each one posted about their Paris plans and so graciously invited their followers to join in the evenings amusement.

Sunday would be an night to remember....

I could sip my tea here. Sorry no coffee for the Dumbwit.
This Seattleite ( & former Starbucks employee) sadly cannot choke it down.

I'd stay in a pretty Paris apartment such as this.

I'd have to sleep here the first night,

only to sleep here the next. Must not play favorites while in Paris.

I dare say I might even want to cook on my holiday if it could be here.

Enjoy a spot of lunch here.

And when I grew tired of the first lovely apartment
(although I severely doubt that would occur).

this apartment would vie for my affections.

and if my feet were weary from hours of walking the fleas,
I would rest them here.

One would have to partake in a bit of sustenance to maintain
their peak level of shopping stamina. I know you won't argue
with me about this fact.
I suspect I will be prompted to show-off my dancing prowess with the ladies on stage.

Evenings in Paris make the magic happen.

I suspect I would be spotted by 'Sartorialist' & asked for a photo.
It is always proper to oblige.

Me and the 'gals' would laugh, share stories and perhaps
buy matching sunglasses.

And of course a day must include cycling the streets with Sande (of A Gift Wrapped Life) and her sister-in-law. We would soak in every sight & sound of the magnificent French life-style.

But one must never go to Paris without downloading the incredibly useful iPhone app
'Keys to the Fleas'; 'Claudia Strasser's insiders guide to the flea markets & brocantes of Paris.
Filled with such amazingly helpful tips such as shipping, trading, and market terms, it's a must have for any Paris enthusiast.

'download Keys to the Fleas here.

Ladies, wishing you fond memories, friendships forged and fabulous flea finds.
* Wishing I were in PARIS *
& now.... xv

* if you'd like to stay in one of those fabulous apartments search Haven in Paris and Paris Perfect.

{go forth and shop responsibly}
I'd be @ the fleas

Just to say that I don't argue with the imperative need to partake in a bit of sustenance to maintain
the peak level of shopping stamina. If you sell two kidneys can I come too?

I'm so ticked off I can't be there, I'm sending MOTH as my proxy. We have a black tie function to attend in Melbourne the night before, so he says he may just stay in his monkey suit for the flight to Paris in his private jet. That would make him very presentable for his evening with the girls @ Cafe Les Deux Magots. He has offered to do a presentation/slide show to them during the night on our renos. so far. I told him that probably won't be required.

I am certainly up for the trip, could we hop over to Italy on the way home? I still believe if you get into the car RIGHT now and get to the hospital you have time and if not I will lend you the money and hold your kidney ransom.
Would love it if you would follow my new blog...

I felt like I just took the trip of a lifetime from this post! First of all, I'm with you on the tea, no coffee. Rare breed we are :) It's been too long since I've been to Paris. About 10 years ago. Thanks for the beautiful images to bring me back in thought. I'm totally wanting to dig out my photos now. I had the manual SLR old school camera, so it's not so easy to pull up those images! I so wish you could be there. It's obvious you are in heart :) XO, Kelly

Ah yes, Deb. I wish I could...I wish I could!!

The best flea markets are in Paris!
And I got to go every year for a month for 7 years when my daughter lived there. I love having her in the U.S., but I sure miss her adorable Parisian apartment! And Les Deux Magots!

although i did let out a small scream regarding the coffee bit; i've regrouped and decided i'll just drink more to make up for you don't.

Sweetie, pack your bags and I'll meet you at the airport!! Paris, here we come!!! ;-)

Deb, personally, I think it's just awful to have Sande & Vicki flaunting that Paris trip to all of US who must stay at home. Totally inconsiderate of them, don't you think? Anyway, we're going to Sorrento in April so you & I can get back at them then.
:) X 10

Beautiful. What is with the macaroon's and where can I get one here in Cali? Everytime I see one of those beautiful cookie/cakey things I want to make them. Well eat them really, but I would give it a whirl if I knew a recipe. ;)
