Truth be told of love

Love isn't always what is depicted on celluloid and sometimes
it is.

Going out for a pizza when I really wanted a cheeseburger.

Telling your wife that she's more beautiful than ever when her hair has fallen out from chemo.

Routine without life feeling like a routine.

Putting up with me once more saying,  "I told you that already".

Having more hair in your ears than on your head.

Seeing past my age spots.

Hearing a noise and it didn't come from the dog.

Seeing my failures without pointing them out.

Saying, "Will you marry me" when I came as a packaged deal.

Never weary when asked over and over again, "Do I look fat?"

Love is.....
holding my hand until I took my last breath and left our world.

Love is a beach, make it one big sandbox of fun and fill it with love.

{go forth and live responsibly}
Valentines Day should be every day.

Valentine's Day *should* be everyday!!
Deb! Your first image cracked me up and was so perfect as the Valentine's picture we're doing in class today is of two fishy's in love, in a fishbowl!
Wonderful, funny, very real, and very touching post on love...true love! The image of your parents is so fitting for today...and look at your lovely mother's dress...very romantic. ♥

Happy Valentine's Day to you and your Scottish love!

Oh Deb,
That was perfect. We have been married 35 years this year and we have NEVER celebrated Valentine's Day. Chris has always said that Valentine's Day is for unrequited love and that our's is requited. That's his excuse !!!! haha. I like to think that Valentine's Day is everyday ( well, most day's !!)
We must be psychic as I have just put my post up. We are obviously 'in tune'.
Enjoy the rest of this day of love. I am going to London for a couple of days, so will email when I get back. Lots of love. XXXX

I do like Jacqueline's remark about Valentine's Day being for unrequited love only. I guess the requiting deepens and stabilizes with time, which gives rise to the truthful love you describe so well.

Deb, I just love how you love your guy, your kids, your family, your friends....and The Steve!
We both have so much going on these days but you always make time to stop and connect with us, sometimes as a group of bbf's and sometimes it's just you and me.
That makes you so very special to everyone and to me. I hope you know that.
You are a valentine!
