Ta' DONE

Greetings all & how I miss you ~

This is what this sad soul accomplished while I've been playing hooky from blogging. As you might remember my previous post was about patterned window treatments & it was from this office transformation that I got my inspirational juices flowing. Still not completely finished & far from ideal but wanted to show you the impact of these wild patterned drapes in this dark, lots of natural wood space. In a perfect world, I'd paint the wood a creamy white, but because of selling I opted to not go there.

It's amazing what I can accomplish if I'm not online. A bit of a wake-up call that this gal had better get a wee bit better at 'time-management'.

I have stepped up my "doing dial" to transform my 'to-do' list to a 'ta-done' list and my bags are packed for Washington State, with a stock of water-proof mascara.

to do list
(check!)

  • sew drapes and finish office details
  • stain patio furniture
  • paint outdoor chandelier yellow gloss
  • paint laundry room + cabinets
  • paint Em's bathroom/install new shower rod & rings
  • paint guest bedroom's bathroom/install cork wall over sink/mirror/towel bars
  • reupholster 2 Louis XVI pieces
  • organize garage sale
  • edge lawns/deadhead roses/plant bedding plants
  • pack for trip to WA
  • graduation announcements for Marc & Emily
  • help plan grad pool party for 105 with 5 other moms of Taylor grads
  • invitations/plan grad party for Em with family friends
  • plan Marcus' grad dinner @ WSU
  • pick hymns for mother's memorial service for dad
Does it not feel triumphant when you can check them off?!

I thank you from the bottom of my paint bucket for still reading DWT. I've missed reading all your creative posts and just know that I'll be back reading & commenting with a vengeance. There is light at the end of this tunnel, I know it.

Cheers my dears and don't forget to ~

Love Love Love the patterned window treatments! The room looks magazine worthy.

Oh and the BEST waterproof mascara is good ole Maybelline, the pink and green tube, just make sure you get the waterproof, not regular.

Good luck with your list. ;)

Have a safe trip.

It looks fantastic, Deb! I love the fabric you picked, especially with the navy walls and woodwork. Where'd you snag it?

Yes, I think most rooms are incomplete without something at the window....kind of like leaving the house with NO jewelry on, at all. These drapes really punched up what would normally be a pretty conservative room. I really like the twist on that. The desk is also super cool. Good luck with that list ~ 'tis the season for all of this stuff!!! xx P&H

Dear Deb,
You are doing a grand job with all of the things that you need to do. Don't panic. It will all get done and, if some of them don't, then the world won't fall apart !! I love your curtains. They have really given the room some
'oomph' and the finishing touch. I think that your list is much more important than blogging. I've had trouble with my computer and, because I haven't been able to use it,I have acheived so much more than usual.
This blogging has a lot to answer for !!!! haha.
Lots of love, Deb and don't work too hard. XXXX

Love your to-do list. We all have them (albeit not as long as yours, hopefully) and every once in a while I give up an entire weekend and try to get it all done. Again, hopefully. And like you, I just don't turn on the computer to do it!
