Absolute Autumn

Fall equates many things for many of us; for me it's all about the arrival of my beloved fashion magazines. It rates right up there with my childhood memories of the Sear's Christmas catalog gracing our family mailbox; oh yah, this is big.

There's the obvious signals of fall - yellow school buses riding the roads. Packed with pupils making those goofus faces as you pass bye. There's the crisp morning air, the changes of color of our local foliage, and the end of t.v. reruns and the long awaited answers to all those pre-summer cliff-hangers. That is all well and good and true triggers that Autumn has arrived, but THIS is fall folks -
  • plaid, beloved plaid
  • leather - it's hot again
  • tights (well, maybe not so much in Houston)'
  • corduroys - narrow or wide wale
  • velveteen, glorious, elegant velvet
  • boots - ankle, motorcycle, knee; no imagination required
  • and randomly - being able to ride my Triumph sans the 100 degree sweats
  • hair - inspirational runaway, stunning starlet hair
I can't put my finger on it but it's a feeling. Just maybe the notion of re-inventing one's self as the new season unfolds. The magic of Autumn ~

A huge thank you for all the incredibly supportive and thoughtful messages that I've received in support of my quest to become a licensed Real Estate Agent. All your good vibes did the trick and I pulled it off - licensed I am.... you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Oh, Deb, that's great news! Congratulations! May you have all the success in the world! And thanks so much for your always sweet comments - like today on my guest post. You really are one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to "meet" and I'm very grateful. And hooray for fall, right? I can't wait for it to get here. In the meantime, I'm savoring all the thick magazines. Happiness!

Get out the champagne and lets have a party!!!!!!Many, many congratulations to you, dear Deb..oh, so well deserved...I knew you would do it....and, autumn is coming and I can get out my boots and jackets, although, here in the U.K we can wear them all the year round!!!!
As for hairstyles....my hair has been long and straight, all of my life so , it doesn't really matter what's in fashion...mine always stays the same!! But it's still lovely to look at these gorgeous images.
Once again, Deb, I am so pleased for you.You can relax a little now and have some ME time. Lots of love XXXX

Congratulations DEB
Woohoo... you're a rising star, never doubted you could do it! You are such an inspiration for those of us who need to take the 'Road Not YET Travelled'. Boy I think I need that road now but haven't got your dedication to the task.

Well It Spring on it's way here and I can't wait. I am OVER winter.. it is so last season. haha But I'm sure when the heat waves hit, I'll be whinging about that. And about the hair, I sound a little like Jacqueline. Long blonde, straight and been that way for years.

So now for you my girl.. Go Forth and Celebrate!!! xxx Julie

Congrats on getting your real estate license! You ride a triumph? Very cool! I still love Scarlett's hair in this pic. I think I'm going blonde and chopping my locks. Bring on the plaid and boots, baby!

Congrats, Deb! I'm so excited for you -- too bad we already sold the old house or I'd have hired you!

Btw, love ScarJo's messy short hairdo in that pick. What fun!

Congratulations!!!! Good for you! Fall is a time of new beginnings and there's a renewed feeling of starting over (sort of the same feeling as the Spring, but in a "out with the old" twist). I too love my September magazines. It's the small stuff, right? Love all the pictures!!!

There really IS something magical about fall... the air feels charged with possibility. I make a point of getting hot cider as often as possible and walking around everywhere. I adore it.

hi Deb, I am so happy that you have that test under your belt! Congrats on passing the test, it is not an easy one, but we all knew that you could do it.
A few tips from an old Realtor, try to list more than sell. That way you have the property and the other agents can sell it for you, it will in turn bring you buyers. Learn not to waste time on people that are really not going to buy or sell, it is easy to do when you generally like people (as you and I do). As being a Realtor is always learning, listen well and work smart. Now, my friend, I personally know that you will be outstanding in this venue. I made a lot of money and worked in the field for twenty nine years. Good luck! Love, Carol
