Watkins Natural History
From a bluff high above the Mississippi River in Winona, Minnesota to the homes and hands of their grateful, hard-working, globally-minded customers comes the purity of Watkins, It's wholesome, it's refreshing and it's never "doctored up" like some big city factory products. Watkins has been good and natural through and through since 1868. They invented eco-friendly products as far back as 1917 with their natural vegetable oil soap with no animal bi-products, fillers or colors. They did not know it was being eco-friendly back then, but their instincts were right.
Watkins now aims to make household chores a little easier with its newest line of J.R. Watkins Natural Home Care cleaning products. Made with refreshing coconut, palm, lemon and lavender oils and highly effective plant derived surfactants, Watkins diverse line of cleaners are safe and effective for your home and your family.
Responsible manufacturing processes are as important as its commitment to providing natural, consumable items for everyday life. Watkins is devoted to leaving the smallest environmental footprint possible. Hard not to give your household grocery dollars to a company that has such honorable standards. A company that is as globally minded as their customers.
That all aside, the dish and hand soaps I purchased smells and performs amazing. While I tidy up my kitchen with the natural coconut oil, aloe & green tea wafting through the air; it will transport me to the far away Indian Isle's lounging on the sand, as I sip Mai Tai's, and watch tanned, hunky surfers battle the waves. Need a good recipe for Mai Tai's, just let me know!

I just found you and I am glad I did!
Lovely blog!
Love it. And I'm right there with you -- gorgeous packaging and the "latest and greatest" in products get me every single time.
I'm a sucker as well and I'm always looking for new greener products!
I am definitely a product junkie, and will pretty much buy anything if I like the packaging. Although that doesn't always mean it's any good... I've made that mistake with wine before. Ick! Thanks so much for the lovely comment over at Urban Flea, I really love it when you tell me what you think; keep em' coming! Cheers my dear!

I am a Watkins Associate and I must say, you describe the products and the Watkins philosophy so well. I was captured by your writing as it drew me in. If I had not already been a fan of Watkins products, you would have convinced me to do so. Thanks for the article. May I borrow your words? How do I go about sharing your words with others and still giving you the credit you are due? Contact me at lacy_watkins@yahoo.com
The better the packaging the more I'm screwed.
Standing up...
Hi I'm Alicia & I'm a productaholic!!!!!!!!!!!
Will there be donughts & coffee after the blog????
I couldn't agree with you more- on all fronts. I studied package design so I'm a junkie for a well packaged product. Then have it work, smell great and be environmentally conscientious? Sold!
