Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire - Christmas 2010

Happy Holidays to one and all. As my small token of appreciate and adoration to you that are so kind to have followed the dumbwit along this year, I bring back the 'Chestnuts Roasting' series that (according to Google statistics) had the most hits from the most countries in the history of dumbwit tellher. I dare say I think we may all just be a little 'design' (?) starved.

Sit back, grab a glass of merlot, or a cup of gingerbread/lemon tea in my case, and light your fire; enjoy the show...

This is my gift to you ~
Jake (jilt me I don't care) Gyllenhaal
Javier Bardem
Dustin Hoffman - sometimes great things come in small packages.
Bones' - David Boreanaz (he'll always be Angel to me)
Gossip Girls -Ed Westwick
Dwayne (the Rock, sometimes a tutu fairy) Johnson
good at any age -  Michael Kane
Honestly do I need to even tell you his name?
Ravishing Robert Redford
The oddly sexy and Mr. Katie Perry - Russell Brand

HBO's True Blood's' Swedish dish - Alexander Skarsgard
'Brideshead Revisited'  Matthew 'oh-so' Goode
Brit actor - Aaron Johnson
'Pushing Daisies' - Lee Pace (myself).
'Last King of Scotland', - James McAvoy
Anderson Cooper 360°

'Moonlight, Hawaii Five- O and The Back Up Plan's' - Alex O'Loughlin
O.K. ..O.K.... Alex O is  worthy of showing twice.
'The Tudor's (although I hardly doubt he needs one) Henry Cavill.
An intermission break may be require after that one.....
Mad Men's silver fox  - John Slattery
luscious Leo Dicaprio
Aussie, I've got great hair - Simon Baker
Californian Milo Ventimiglia

The Tourist's - British Paul Bettany
Keith Richards
Markie Mark Wahlberg
and you can 'thank me later' - Will Ferrell
Don't say I never did anything for you....
 {go forth and live responsibly}
create traditions, celebrate the past, sing carols, string popcorn, give thanks and love much.

Well, it's just like you to wake us all up!
Oh how I love long intermissions!
Yep, I know what you're thinking.
I had to ask my daughter who all these handsome boys were. The only ones I recognized were Dustin & Robert!
Does your Scottish Santa know that you've been a naughty girl?
I didn't think so....

Wow, some of these men have great style and flair for decor! All great matches! I came across your post this morning while browsing interior design blogs and your take on interior décor is exquisite. I love the fireplace made of distressed and cracked stone, how wonderfully inviting on a cold night! Window treatments can add to the feel of any home, and there are some great examples through these manly homes. It is true that you must dress your windows appropriately to bring out their true beauty. Thank you for writing and as a special thanks to you and your readers, I would like to offer a 20% off coupon using this code upon checkout: BLG20. Thank you for our extra special Christmas gift!

Wow what a line up.. We have the same taste in men.. I almost flicked over the interior shots to get to the next beauty. Thank-you for taking the time to put that all together. Carla

You are So Bad !
I was happy looking at the rooms in addition to the pretty faces, for a moment, then ended up skipping past the rooms and ogling the boys.
For some reason, I can skip Russell Brand but there were so many on there that would fit beautifully under my Christmas tree. ( I just have to figure out what to do about my husband first lol)

Oh Deb,
What a selection !!!!
I'm afraid that, unlike many, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Russell Brand. You obviously have a soft spot for him, otherwise you wouldn't have included him !! Sometimes, the pretty boys don't always do it for me.They usually love themselves most of all !! Give me a man with a sense of humour anyday.......... although, I'm sure that Johnny Depp can fulfill both of my wishes !!!!
..... and some of those fireplaces are to die for.
Hope all's well with you and your's Deb and have the most wonderful and magical Christmas. Thanks for your wonderful friendship in 2010 and here's to more of the same in 2011. Lots of love. XXXX

Milo! In both image and that room.
Yes, I call him.
Sorry any of you guys, I called him first. You can have Anderson or Dustin.
Or will Ferrell.
But, seriously, where's Bono in all of this?

Laura Ingalls Gunn said...

Ok, where is the disclaimer of "Don't drink anything before you read this post as you will either choke or spray your computer."

As I was scrolling down I first loved that you were showing these men and their design counterparts. Then I was thinking we had the same taste in men.
By that time I had reached Will Ferrel and thought "Well, I guess not." Then I thought about how he makes me laugh and I am glad that he made your list. :)

Just beautiful! May you create many wonderful memories this holiday season.

Christmas blessings to you!

Dearest Deb, I'm so late with my holiday good wishes! It has been three solid weeks of houseguests, family holiday get-togethers, parties, and weddings, and although it's been wonderful, I'm just now catching my breath. (<-- or not, that run on sentence has me winded!). I hope you and your family had a glorious Christmas and New year's weekend. Wishing you all the best in 2011, which will be quite the eventful year for you, yes? XO, Marsi

P.S. Love the man & design candy!

Hi Deb!
Leave it to you to find a way to incorporate the holidays, sexy men, and design......You coordinated the personas and the rooms with great wit ( as usual ) and very appropriately I might add. You got me at the amazing and talented Michael Caine and Anderson Cooper......I wish you and your family a great 2011. I know it will be for you..... xxx000
