It began with my first inspiration board. When we got the news we were closing on a house in Houston, I started what so many people do, a collage of my 'favorite things' in design. I dragged that board across country in the trunk of my 4-Runner like an cherished friend.
I came across it tucked away in a closet yesterday. It's tattered, has caulking on it (not sure what that was about?), & a few photo's are m.i.a. Despite it's wear & tear, it was like discovering an old friend. How fun to see how many of the design inspirations that I put to use. The one thing that stood out was how I put my college age son to work our first summer here. With two boys in college, art is the last thing that I would be investing in right now. Our sons are our investment!
So with magazine clips of favorite pieces of art in hand, I put my son Marc to work. Many of our favorite HGTV shows encourage us to create our own wall art. Worthy of a go don't you think?
Marc & I have to admit, it's a bit therapeutic.
