Blog Ball 2009 - Part III

It's a Wrap -

Well it's true, all good parties (and the bad ones too) must come
to it's finale.

Why I do believe the bubbly has gone to my head.

Time to grab that certain someone and declare it a night.
- Oh what a night -

Couture Carrie was hit and tackled by cupid

Renee insisted on bringing her beloved pony to the party.
He's rather behaved really.

Wish I could say that about dear Jenny Mac. You see she had
a few glasses of wine (red of course) too many.

I think Kristin had her fair share too, but who was counting?

Lisa decided to re-decorate the reception area.
Who travels with wallpaper samples I ask you?
That girl is always ready for the next task at hand.

and............ Jackie wouldn't keep her clothes on
(and you thought it was just me).

But Anne will never tell.

Dust Jacket Attic kept playing with her ball gown.
Did she not know it was rented?

I didn't know Lenorenevermore brought her pets when she traveled?
Her motto was "excess is best".

Jane and Averil, both lawyers, were deep in deliberation. Perhaps there would
be a lawsuit after 'you know 'who ran off with one of the wait staff?

While Cassandra had to finish her make-up to hop the next flight to Seattle.
I hope her mascara is water-proof? I was told she's quite the perfectionist. Apparently Meg over heard her commenting on my choice of party decor in an unfavorable light.

I think Dooby Girl is still posing for photog's. She never tires that girl.
After running after a toddler, what's a dozen French paparazzi?

And I swear that was Anthony (Pop Circus) running down the hall.
He arrived late but do I dare to say he had a great time?

and then there was Christy, she couldn't have wine
but that didn't stop from shaking it with abandon.

J Gregg was having to gather up his 'plus duo', the twins. L.A. is calling.

Why is it that men travel with pairs?
I had simply put on the invites, "plus one". Keith should of know better after all.

Haute Shopper was compelled to take in another day of shopping.
Truth be told I think she's behind on her next post.

Francine was up early to have breakfast with the Sarkozy's.

Janet & Ruby hit the streets for a leisurely stroll.
No cares that it's 6° and there sporting short-shorts. They know they've got and
want to flaunt it.

Jane, Annie and Kelly became instant friends sharing the
night's tidbits over a glass of milk. Do tell.....

Before I go, I wish to thank the following lovely ladies for these appreciated awards - I could just turn around & give them back to you all as I admire each and every one of you.

given by Haute Shopper - Haute World

I grant this award to "Spry on the Wall" - Doobygirl. I adore your blog content and your personal style. You are one incredibly kind lady & I'm thankful for you.

Francine Gardner - Art de Vivre
From one incredible woman who I so admire, to another;
I give this to Renee of
Renee Finberg Tells All.

given by the most friendly and warm Lisa Porter - The Lisa Porter Collection

I bestow this award upon Mr. "Pop Circus" himself - Anthony. Your blog is an adventure in enjoyment. I don't want to start a rumor but your also a "nice' guy.

from the Italy trotting & ravishing Rachel - Inspiration in Italy
I give this to someone who makes me laugh on a daily basis. It's the sound effects that she creates into my head. - Lenorenevermore.

From talented x10 design duo - Kelly & Victoria - Design Ties, I give
to Jenny at My favorite and my best. She's turning the big 40 this weekend & that alone deserves an award. Actually, she writes like no other.

- What YOU may not know about Dumbwit tell her -
(and your thinking - if she really liked us, she'd skip the unknown 7, but that's the award rules)

  1. It bothers me that I will likely leave this earth & never have the opportunity to wear a gorgeous couture gown like we all so often blog about. Shallow I know.
  2. My mother made all my clothes through school. I was voted 'best dressed' in High School. Great compliment to mom but wish I had been voted 'most likely to succeed'. Much more impressive. to tell my future grandkids.
  3. I once flushed a girls dress down the toilet in 5th grade, & accosted 'Larry, the fellow kindergartner, on the way home from school for a kiss. To stop a pestering neighborhood boy, I hit him on the head with a hammer. To this day, I'm amazed I have friends, any friends at all.
  4. I wanted to be an architect since I was 13. However my little brother filled those Keds (trainers).
  5. Said the "I do's" two weeks post my high school graduation. Never get married at the age of 18 even if you are in "LOVE" (can you hear the background music?) & you seek revenge on your controlling parents. So not smart.
  6. First family member since the dawn of time to obtain a divorce. I hung in there, despite being in an abusive relationship, for twenty two years because of the shame.
  7. In high school sang in a girls choir for the opera "Mephistopheles" at the Seattle Opera House.

Certainly not least but last - I give this award to one woman who was brave enough to instigate regular emails and put up with my incessant whining over the many months.
Like all of you, I hope & pray to meet her one day to personally say, "thank-you" for being you - Jacqueline from Home. Pass it on if you wish or keep all to your fabulous self.

Well I'm off for a ride in the country, where ever did I leave my coat now?

{Go forth & live responsibly}

Let the holidays begin

AWWWWW, you are the sweetest! And hey, I don't get many nights out so I'm just milking it for all it's worth (and boy do I wish I looked like that picture!). I feel very blessed that I have connected with someone as lovely as you through this blogging thang, who knew? You and Townhouselady have been my biggest fans and for that I am eternally grateful! You are a positive, shining light and I love you for that. Many hugs and have a wonderful December!

*December has been good to me so far, but alas the little one is running a fever this evening, so the night may be long :o)

A million thank yous for organising The Ball of the Year - it was beautiful, elegant and oh so sophisticated. I'm already planning what I'm going to wear next year. After all this effort, I think we should all get together and buy you a ticket to somewhere wonderful and exotic for a good long relax. Leigh

Zoinks!
I guess that I was running so late for the ball, I forgot to get dressed... At least I thought to duck under a lampshade once the cameras came out! Still, I see that somehow they managed to capture my "good side" anyway. ;)

Thank you SO much for having me to your Blog Ball 2009! It was such a stylish soiree! You really know how to throw a party!

Next year I'll plan ahead, and I'll rent a tuxedo. Or a clown costume.

And, of course, thank you VERY much for passing along the 'Honest Scrap' award to me! It means a lot!

My dear friend, Deb,
I'm at this moment, balling my eyes out. You are such a kind, and generous friend and I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your wonderful, gorgeous, special award that you have given me. I don't think that I am deserving of it, but I will treasure it and it will take pride of place on my blog. I know that, one day, we will meet up and have a great time so, we will look forward to that.
Your ball was wonderful. I loved every minute as everyone can see by my state of dress, or should I say, undress !!!! How did you know that that is how I end up after very party that I attend !!!! I will try to behave myself a little more like an English lady should, at the 2010 ball...... and look at Julie in her shorts. I think that she is trying to outshine me !!
Once again, Deb, thanks for being a great, loyal and fabulous blogging friend and long may it continue. I'm going for a lay down.I'm rather hung over after that wonderful party and I need to put a few clothes on !!.Lots of love. XXXX

Loved this post, of course. And even though I can't drink wine, I do shake it! hehe!

You know what -- I just posted about a brand new service in NYC that is RENTING out couture gowns. I can't remember what it's called - it was within the last month or so. Check it out! You may get to wear couture after all!!!!

(ps - sooo proud of you for leaving that relationship, even if it took 22 years!)

First let me say, I'm laughing my a-- off! You are such a sweetheart, and your tribute posts to your fellow bloggers just get funnier and funnier. Second - I can't believe it's snowing in Houston in early December! (I'm jealous, although I think we're due for the same front move through tomorrow night, so perhaps I'll see some flurries too!). Third (re: your comment on my blog regarding your infrequent posts), your posts are brilliant and beautiful and thought provoking, and I'm sure time consuming to compose. I feel your blog is a gift that we, your readers, are so thankful for. Fourth, I had no idea you suffered 20 years of an abusive relationship! I'm so glad you got out. NEVER be ashamed of being a strong, intelligent woman. The woman that I'm glad to know now :) Sorry about my long essay. Love you my dear!

Fun post, again.
And yes, I know what it's like to get married young. It was a mistake. Problem is, nobody listens at that age. We didn't either.

What a lovely end to a great blog ball! You are spot-on with the shopping ;-) I went to 4 sample sales this week (our real sales only start after the holidays) in search of Christmas gifts. I'm so exhausted! Congrats on your awards and thanks for sharing your 7 facts. Sorry to hear about your bad marriage, even if we do learn from our mistakes, but I guess there are also certain times we wish we had known better. Glad you found your Scottish lad though ;-) Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

What beautiful posts! Every picture made me wish for a little (or a lot) more glamour in this world.

Thank you for stopping by my blog last week. You are too kind! It's always nice to "meet" a fellow blogstress. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the holidays ahead.

I can't wait to see what you post about next.
